Hawaii Medical Service Association seeks an experienced underwriter to prepare and analyze rate proposals and financial reports to support the Account Management and Sales Department in rate renewals and new account processes.

You will perform reinsurance functions including recovery, IBNR reporting, large claims tracking, reinsurance audits, and renewals, with a hybrid work setting limited to Hawaii residents.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 2 years of related underwriting experience.
• Ability to analyze data using math concepts and historical utilization.
• Knowledge of medical insurance plans and rating methods.

Responsabilités

• Prepare, analyze, and audit rate proposals and financial reports for rate renewals and new accounts.
• Perform reinsurance functions including recovery, IBNR reporting, large claims tracking, and audits.
• Produce and audit monthly reports and reconciliations (5500, utilization, financials).
• Support account planning and client meetings with underwriting information and rationale.
• Identify data issues and assist in special projects and training as needed.
