Job summary

Cambi seeks an Operations and Maintenance Engineer to ensure reliable performance of its systems in Hawaii. The role leads maintenance, troubleshooting, and performance activities, serving as the primary technical contact for the client and coordinating with internal teams and external partners.

The position combines hands-on fieldwork with planning, inspections, repairs, and documentation to maintain safety and design alignment across projects. Travel across the mainland USA is expected.

Qualifications

• Degree or certificate in mechanical, process, chemical, automation or related field.
• 3+ years of relevant work experience preferred.
• Experience in wastewater, pulp and paper, biogas or agriculture is a plus.
• Comfortable working in international environments.
• English proficiency required; additional languages advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Execute preventive maintenance for installed systems.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues from fault finding to repair.
• Replace and manage lifecycle of critical components.
• Manage spare parts purchasing and delivery.
• Verify and document system performance after interventions.
• Plan and manage resolution of complex technical issues.
• Maintain service records and reports.
• Act as main technical contact for clients in Hawaii.
• Coordinate internal teams and external partners.
• Monitor system condition and identify risks to performance.
• Ensure systems operate as designed and drive improvements.
