Job summary

Interstate Waste Services seeks a Manager of Hauling Operations to lead depot activities, routing, staffing, safety, and budget oversight across assigned sites. You will supervise drivers, dispatchers, and supervisors, develop procedures to maximize efficiency, and ensure compliance with OSHA standards while maintaining high service levels.

The ideal candidate has 7–10 years in transportation or solid waste operations, strong leadership and budgeting experience, and a proven data-driven approach

Qualifications

• 7–10 years in transportation, logistics, or solid waste operations with coaching and leadership.
• 3+ years of supervisory experience in a related field.
• Experience with fleet management and heavy equipment operations.
• Proven ability to implement safety programs and cost controls.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day depot operations, routing, labor planning, and budgeting.
• Supervise drivers, helpers, dispatchers, and supervisors.
• Develop procedures to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.
• Ensure safety compliance with OSHA and company standards.
• Lead monthly safety meetings and route optimization initiatives.
• Coordinate with city agencies and other stakeholders to renew contracts.
