Job summary

ABOUT THE ROLE

Amrize, a leading supplier of quality, construction building materials in the United States, has immediate openings for a Haul Truck Driver to support operations at the Rappahanock Quarry located in King George, VA. This position is primarily responsible to safely operate heavy-duty trucks to transport raw materials (such as rock, gravel, and other aggregates) within the quarry site.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
  • Operate Haul Trucks to transport materials such as gravel, sand, or crushed stone within the quarry.
  • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the truck is in safe working condition.
  • Follow all safety rules and site regulations while operating vehicles on quarry or plant property.
  • Load and unload materials, coordinating with equipment operators and supervisors to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of the truck, reporting any mechanical issues or safety concerns promptly.
  • Monitor truck gauges and fluid levels during operation and notify maintenance staff of any discrepancies.
  • Assist with general labor tasks around the site as needed when not driving.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent
  • Required Work Experience: Heavy Equipment Operation Preferred. CDL isn't required
  • Heavy Equipment Experience: Proven ability to safely operate haul trucks and other quarry equipment such as loaders or dozers.
  • Safety Awareness: Strong commitment to following safety procedures, PPE requirements, and quarry traffic rules.
  • Reliability and Work Ethic: Consistent attendance, punctuality, and a willingness to work in varying weather and production conditions.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to perform accurate pre-trip inspections, identify maintenance issues, and manage material loads responsibly.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Works effectively with supervisors, equipment operators, and plant personnel to support production goals.
  • Adaptability and Initiative: Demonstrates flexibility to handle changing work demands and takes proactive steps to maintain efficiency and safety.

Additional Requirements:

  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE") , including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
