Job summary

Aviagen is seeking personnel for hatchery operations in a production environment. The Hatch Crew member will transfer eggs from setters to hatchers, maintain cleanliness across the hatchery, and assist with day-old chick handling in line with welfare standards and SOPs.

Responsibilities include preparing hatchery areas, boxes, and general duties while adhering to company policies and safety procedures. This role may require working weekends and holidays according to shift schedules.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.
• Must be able to complete repetitive work and stand for extended periods of time.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work under pressure.
• Must be able to perform tasks with limited supervision.
• Proven reliability in work attendance and willingness to give best effort.
• Must have own reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Clean/sanitize machines, tables, floors, ceilings, etc.
• Transfer eggs from setters to hatchers
• Make boxes and other general duties
• Handle day-old chicks in accordance with welfare standards and SOPs
• Meet all operating procedures as outlined by company policy
• Prepare newly hatched chicks for sexing and farm delivery
• Perform other duties as assigned
