Job summary

Hy-Line North America is seeking an Assistant Hatchery Manager at our Spencer, IA location to oversee day-to-day hatchery operations, including receiving eggs, setting eggs, transferring eggs, handling day-old chicks, and preparing them for delivery. The role requires leadership to mentor Hatchery staff, enforce HLNA standards, and maintain safety and efficiency.

A bachelor's degree in Poultry Science or Animal Science or related experience is preferred, along with strong Microsoft Office skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Poultry Science, Animal Science, or related field preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word & Excel), Internet Explorer, and in-house programs.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
• Excellent communication skills in person, over the phone, and via email.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing day-to-day hatchery operations: receiving eggs, setting eggs, transferring eggs, handling chicks, and sorting for delivery.
• Develop a team of employees to work efficiently and in compliance with HLNA standards and animal husbandry procedures with a safety emphasis.
• Manage mentoring Hatchery staff and support continuous improvement activities.
