Job summary

Lincoln Premium Poultry is seeking a Hatchery Maintenance Technician to maintain, repair, and modify industrial machinery across the hatchery. You will assist the maintenance supervisor and support the team with electrical and mechanical work, while ensuring safety compliance and efficient operations.

The role requires hands-on use of tools, reading blueprints, and the ability to work in a refrigerated environment.

Qualifications

  • 6+ months of industrial maintenance experience.
  • Proficient with hand and power tools.
  • Ability to read a tape measure and industrial blueprints.
  • Basic electrical knowledge and safety awareness.
  • Proficient PC skills including Excel, Word and Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor hatchery equipment to ensure proper function and repair as needed.
  • Diagnose, adjust, maintain, and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Review work orders and document work performed.
  • Assist with installation or modification of equipment as required.
  • Provide training to peers as requested by maintenance lead or supervisor.

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for the maintenance, repair, construction, and modification of industrial machinery, including electrical components, throughout the hatchery. Assists supervisor in overseeing hatchery maintenance.

DAILY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Monitor hatchery production areas to ensure proper functioning of assigned equipment and intervene for repairs as necessary.
  • Utilize all manner of hand and power tools to diagnose, adjust, maintain, and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
  • Review work orders to ensure accuracy and maintain documentation of work performed.
  • Assist with installation of new equipment or modify existing equipment as required.
  • Provide training to peers as requested or needed by maintenance lead, supervisor, or training department.
  • Make suggestions for correctible measures when downtime results from mechanical or technical defects.
  • Attend maintenance meetings and trainings as required.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and give feedback to supervisor about cost reduction, quality improvement and yield control.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION
  • MUST have a minimum of 6 months industrial maintenance experience.
  • MUST be comfortable and experienced utilizing hand and power tools of all varieties.
  • MUST know how to accurately use and read a tape measure as well as industrial blueprints.
  • MUST have basic knowledge and safety understanding of electrical components.
  • MUST have knowledge ofbasic math, including addition, subtraction, division, multiplication and calculating percentages.
  • Skill in using a personal computerand various software applications, including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Ability to work in a refrigerated environment ranging from 45-50 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Ability to communicate in acourteous and professionalmanner with all plant employees, as well as third party vendors and contractors.
  • Ability to operate a forklift, scissors lift, or any other powered equipment or machinery as needed.
  • Ability to work with a group of technicians or autonomously with limited supervision.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • MUST be able to pass required physical including demonstrating your ability to lift the required weight for each position.
  • MUST be able to stand and/or walk for entire 8-hour shift.
  • MUST wear correct job specific PPE as designated by company policy.
  • Ability to consistently practice and enforce safe working habits.
  • Ability to recognize safety risks and comply with all safety standards.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
  • Associate’s degree or higher in Mechatronics, Electrical, Welding or similar fields preferred.
  • Previous experience working with VFD’s (Variable Frequency Drive) or robotics is preferred.
  • Welding experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of water/boiler systems is preferred.

This position requires that you cannot own or have any contact with animals with feathers, other than those owned by Lincoln Premium Poultry, during your employment with LPP.
