Job summary

selectgenetics in Terre Haute, IN is seeking a Maintenance Technician to oversee general maintenance of facilities and automation equipment used in the poult hatching process, under the Hatchery Maintenance Supervisor.

The role requires hands-on skills with machinery, tools, safe work habits, and adherence to biosecurity and safety policies; occasional heavy lifting and ability to work flexible shifts including 4 days on, 4 days off.

Qualifications

• General knowledge of machinery and the diagnostic acumen to repair broken machinery.
• Able to work with tools including forklift, welding equipment, electric drill, electric meter, wrenches and screwdrivers.
• Demonstrated problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to follow and adhere to company policies for bio security, animal welfare and safety.
• Must exhibit safe work habits and use PPE when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Maintain facilities and automation equipment in the poul­t hatching process under supervision.
• Comply with safety, biosecurity and animal welfare policies.
• Move and operate equipment as needed and assist with routine maintenance.
