Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Plant and transplant lettuce seedlings into hydroponic systems.
  • Harvest lettuce heads according to quality and timing standards.
  • Inspect, clean, and prepare lettuce for packaging and distribution.
  • Package and label products in compliance with food safety protocols (FSMA).
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of greenhouse, equipment and packing areas.
  • Assist with light equipment maintenance and general production tasks.
  • Monitor crops for irregularities and report findings to supervisors.
  • Maintain records of harvest quantities and production metrics.
  • Contribute to production goals and team efficiency.

Job description

We are seeking Harvest Techniciansto join Salad Days, a hydroponic lettuce farm in Flora, MS. Operating from a new 65,000-square-foot greenhouse, this role is essential to producing fresh, high-quality lettuce year-round in a modern environment. The Harvest Technicians will work as part of a production team, contributing to planting, harvesting, and packaging in support of daily farm operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plant and transplant lettuce seedlings into hydroponic systems.
  • Harvest lettuce heads according to established quality and timing standards.
  • Inspect, clean, and prepare lettuce for packaging and distribution.
  • Package and label products in compliance with food safety protocols, including FSMA requirements.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of greenhouse, equipment, and packing areas.
  • Assist with light equipment maintenance and general production tasks.
  • Monitor crops for irregularities and report findings to supervisors.
  • Maintain records of harvest quantities and production metrics.
  • Contribute to production goals and team efficiency.
Requirements

  • Reliable transportation and consistent attendance.
Compensation
  • Starting wage $12 per hour to start with increase after introductory period. Higher starting wage depending on experience.
  • Team-based performance bonuses.
  • Full-time, up to 48 hrs per week, with some weekend or holiday hours as needed. Straight time pay.
  • Opportunities for growth within an expanding operation.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $12 per hour to start with pay increase after introductory period. Higher starting wage depending on experience
