Job summary

BrightFarms is seeking a Harvest Lead for our Hendersonville, NC greenhouse on 2nd shift. You will coordinate the daily harvest plan and lead the harvest crew to meet production goals while upholding food safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities include supervising sowing/harvest activities, training the crew, adhering to SOPs, communicating issues, and maintaining thorough records. This role focuses on safe, efficient operations in a greenhouse environment.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in a production environment or related work experience.
• Food or agriculture industry experience preferred.
• Training in Food Safety and Sanitation.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as standard operating procedures, safety rules, label mixing instructions.
• Ability to fulfill routine logs related to food safety and inspection reports.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the harvest and sowing crew in daily operations to ensure the daily plan and goals are met; correct errors and provide feedback as needed.
• Train and educate crew in operating procedures with emphasis on safety and food safety.
• Adhere to all current SOPs, procedures, inspections and quality requirements.
• Communicate with supervisor when irregularities with product or equipment occur.
• Create daily harvest and sowing plan under guidance of supervisor and make decisions as instructed.
• Ensure accurate record keeping of performed testing and recording charts are properly documented according to company and regulatory guidelines.
• Ensure harvest and sowing crew maintains a safe, clean, organized work area and performs periodic sanitation as required.
• Report food safety and quality problems to Supervisor, the SQF Practitioner or directly to Senior Management.
