Harris County Public Health seeks a dedicated professional for the Holistic Assistance Response Team (HART) within the Community Health and Violence Prevention Services Division. You’ll screen 911 calls for HART eligibility, provide crisis stabilization, and coordinate with multiple agencies to connect residents with resources.

The role includes on-scene response as needed, client follow-ups, and cross-training as a Crisis Intervention Specialist.

Qualifications

• Experience in emergency communications, crisis response, or related public-safety field.
• Bilingual in Spanish is preferred; strong written and verbal communication abilities required.
• Ability to learn new technology systems and work across multiple agencies.

Responsabilités

• Assist 911 Communications Officers in screening and triaging calls for HART eligibility.
• Provide courteous, trauma-informed crisis stabilization, emotional support, and referrals.
• Coordinate with 911 EDC, HART staff, and partner agencies on service eligibility and updates.
• Document calls, referrals, and outcomes; contribute to data reports and quality improvement.
• Serve as on-scene Crisis Intervention Specialist as needed and participate in on-call coverage.
• Engage with community partners to promote HART services and improve outcomes.

Emergency communications experience

Bilingual in Spanish

Strong communication skills

Formation

High School Diploma or equivalent with 5 years of relevant experience

Bachelor’s degree in social services, behavioral health, public health, emergency management, criminal justice, public safety or related field + 1 year experience
