Job summary

Chipton-Ross is seeking 10 Harness Technician C's for a contract opportunity in El Segundo, CA. This role involves building and terminating wiring harnesses for spacecraft and ground systems, with emphasis on high-quality, repeatable workmanship.

Responsibilities include fabricating harnesses, reading schematics, working with assembly tools, and collaborating with the team to meet production goals. Candidates must have aerospace technician experience and pass a soldering/crimping test; onsite

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years' experience as a technician in aerospace or equivalent high-reliability field.
  • Certification to J-STD-001 space, NASA.STD.8739.4.
  • Demonstrated exceptional attention to detail.
  • Experience using hand tools, repairing and troubleshooting electronic components.
  • Ability to read schematics, harness wiring diagrams, layout drawings, mechanical drawings, circuit layouts, and parts lists.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Applicants must pass a soldering and crimping test.
  • Experience working in a clean room.
  • Familiar with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Demonstrated ability to use computer applications for work documentation.
  • Practice good housekeeping, tool control, FOD awareness/prevention, and safety at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Performs complex production assembly operations on structural parts, mechanical assemblies, subassemblies and aircraft systems, equipment and accessories using manual or automated assembly tools.
  • As a Harness Technician, you will work hands-on with space hardware, translating designs into reality, and your skill and attention to detail will translate directly to on-orbit mission success.
  • Build and terminate wiring harnesses to a high quality and repetitious manner for Spacecraft installation.
  • Fabricate harnesses for spacecraft and ground systems.
  • Build and terminate wiring harnesses to a high quality For Racks, Boxes.
  • Explain assembly procedures or techniques to co-workers.
  • Work and take direction from team leader for project completion.
  • Confer with supervisors regarding any anticipated production problems
  • Cross-train/mentor new hires.
  • Other duties as assigned.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE)
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and teamwork skills.
  • Experienced with all MS Office software.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform in?process verify of work. (2PV).
  • 4+ Years of knowledge of various wire harness tools to include manual and pneumatic crimpers is preferred.
  • IPC/WHMA?A?620 highly desired.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Lift 50 lbs.
REQUIRED EDUCATION
  • Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 4 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate+2 years' related work, Bachelor, etc.).
WORK HOURS
  • Full-Time/Second Shift
  • 3:30 PM - 1:00 AM
  • OT/DOT: Yes, as business needs.
