Job summary

Boeing in El Segundo is seeking a skilled Harness Technician for contract work on space hardware. You will build and terminate wiring harnesses, translate designs into reality, and support spacecraft installation.

This role requires hands-on experience with harness fabrication, schematics interpretation, and adherence to aerospace quality standards. Applicants must pass soldering/crimping tests and be comfortable in a clean room and PPE.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years experience as a technician in aerospace or equivalent high-reliability field.
  • Certification to J-STD-001 space, NASA.STD.8739.4.
  • Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, layout drawings, mechanical drawings, circuit layouts, and parts lists.
  • Experience working in a clean room and with PPE.

Responsibilities

  • Explain assembly procedures or techniques to co-workers.
  • Work and take direction from team leader for project completion.
  • Confer with supervisors regarding any anticipated production problems.
  • Cross-train/mentor new hires.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Computer Operations

This posting is for a contract assignment and is not a full-time employment offer with Boeing. Candidates selected for roles will be employed as contract workers through a Boeing approved 3rd party for the duration of the specified project.

Performs complex production assembly operations on structural parts, mechanical assemblies, subassemblies and aircraft systems, equipment and accessories using manual or automated assembly tools.

As a Harness Technician, you will work hands‑on with space hardware, translating designs into reality, and your skill and attention to detail will translate directly to on‑orbit mission success. Build and terminate wiring harnesses to a high quality and repetitious manner for Spacecraft installation.

Position Responsibilities
  • Fabricate harnesses for spacecraft and ground systems
  • Build and terminate wiring harnesses to a high quality For Racks, Boxes
  • Explain assembly procedures or techniques to co‑workers
  • Work and take direction from team leader for project completion
  • Confer with supervisors regarding any anticipated production problems

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
  • Minimum 4 years experience as a technician in aerospace or equivalent high‑reliability field
  • Certification to J‑STD‑001 space, NASA.STD.8739.4
  • Demonstrated exceptional attention to detail
  • Experience using hand tools, repairing and troubleshooting electronic components
  • Ability to read schematics, harness wiring diagrams, layout drawings, mechanical drawings, circuit layouts, and parts lists
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Applicants must pass a soldering and crimping test.
  • Experience working in a clean room.
  • Familiar with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Demonstrated ability to use computer applications for work documentation
  • Practice good housekeeping, tool control, FOD awareness/prevention, and safety at all times
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and teamwork skills.
  • Experienced with all MS Office software.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform in‑process verify of work. (2PV)
  • 4+ Years of knowledge of various wire harness tools to include manual and pneumatic crimpers is preferred
  • IPC/WHMA‑A‑620 highly desired
Pay Rate Range

Min Pay Rate $30
