Job summary

Insight Global in the Greater San Jose area seeks a Harness Manufacturing Engineer to design build and installation processes for wire harness assemblies and to drive DFx reviews. You will help develop processes, supply chain and infrastructure to scale operations in a safety-critical space systems program from prototype to production.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in IPC/WHMA-A-620 and NASA-STD-8739.4, plus 5+ years in aerospace manufacturing environment and 3+ years fabricating

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of professional experience fabricating wire harnesses.
• 5+ years in aerospace or high-reliability manufacturing environments.
• Experience with IPC/WHMA-A-620, NASA-STD-8739.4, or comparable harness quality standards.
• Experience with software tools for design & production management such as PLM and MES.

Insight Global is looking for a Harness Manufacturing Engineer in the Greater San Jose area. You will be responsible for designing the build and installation processes for wire harness assemblies, conducting design for excellence (DFx) reviews, and developing the processes, supply chain, and infrastructure that allow the business to scale. The projects you work on will set the foundation for how manufacturing operations runs for years to come, in a hands‑on environment that takes safety‑critical space systems from prototype to production.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
• 3+ years of professional experience fabricating wire harnesses.
• 5+ years of experience in aerospace or high-reliability manufacturing environments
• Experience building complex, highly reliable wire harness assemblies, with a strong background in IPC/WHMA-A-620, NASA-STD-8739.4, or comparable harness quality standards.
• Experience with software tools for design & production management such as PLM and MES

NICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Experience in a cleanroom manufacturing environment
• Familiarity with aerospace industry standards such as AS9100, ISO 9001, or similar
• Experience with CAD tools for mechanical, electrical, and wire harness design
• Experience in automated test equipment for continuity, HI-POT, and other functional validation
