Sierra Space in Colorado is seeking an experienced Avionics Technician IV to install, inspect, test, adjust and repair avionics systems for aerospace vehicles. This senior role requires advanced hands-on work, fabrication of fixtures, and adherence to 5S, FOD and ESD practices to ensure high reliability.
You will collaborate with Test Engineers, provide input on test setups, and specialize in two of three test work centers.

About the Role
The Avionics Technician IV is responsible for installing, inspecting, testing, adjusting, and repairing avionics equipment and systems for our aerospace vehicles. This senior-level role involves performing advanced equipment setup and maintenance activities, using precision measurement tools, and fabricating fixtures. The technician will also apply advanced precision cleaning, chemistry processes, and best shop practices, including 5S, FOD, and ESD awareness. This position is essential for ensuring the reliability and performance of our avionics systems, contributing to the overall success of our aerospace missions.
In this role, you will install, inspect, test, adjust, and repair avionics equipment and systems while performing advanced equipment setup and maintenance activities. You will use precision measurement tools to fabricate fixtures for use, including non-flight parts with standard alloys and simple geometry, and perform advanced precision cleaning and chemistry processes. Adhering to general best shop practices, including PPE and shop safety requirements, you will demonstrate correct packaging and handling requirements for all hardware and apply advanced 5S, FOD, and ESD awareness in your daily tasks. Additionally, you will collaborate with team members to ensure high-quality workmanship and adherence to project timelines, document and report any issues or discrepancies found during inspections and tests, and provide input to Test Engineers for test setup and test procedures. You will also specialize in two of three test work centers to further enhance your expertise.
