Job summary

Muon Space is seeking an early-career Hardware Test Engineer to join our Testbeds & EGSE team. You will build HITL testbeds, bring up systems, and contribute to next‑gen EGSE alongside senior engineers.

The role values hands‑on instinct, curiosity, and a fast learning pace, with onsite work at our San Jose lab 5 days a week. A BS in engineering and strong hardware skills are required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on hardware experience in complex electromechanical systems.
• B.S. in electrical, mechanical, or related engineering field or equivalent hands-on work.
• Experience with debugging, wiring, assembly, and basic troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Build, integrate, and bring up HITL testbed hardware – racks, avionics modules, harnessing, interfaces for each mission.
• Assist in the design of testbed hardware and next-generation EGSE for power, command, and monitoring during integration and test.
• Translate flight hardware designs into testbed configurations with mission teams.
• Debug hardware and interfaces across testbeds with cross-disciplinary engineers.
• Maintain testbed support infrastructure and respond when systems fail.
• Create and maintain documentation: architecture diagrams, build records, checkout procedures.
• Coordinate with supply chain and production on testbed inventory and module builds.
