Job summary

Global Payments is seeking a QA Hardware & Device Test Engineer to join our Genius Quality Engineering Team. You will validate payment devices, certify peripherals, and onboard new hardware platforms to accelerate time-to-market while ensuring reliability and security of payment solutions across our global ecosystem.

You will work with cross-functional teams to diagnose complex device issues, build testing strategies, and drive continuous improvement in hardware quality and testing coverage.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in quality assurance, hardware testing or related field.
• Hands-on testing and troubleshooting payment devices and POS hardware.
• Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, defect management and test planning.
• Experience with TCP/IP, Ethernet, and Wi‑Fi networking.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence outcomes.
• Experience with payment terminals such as PAX, Ingenico, Castles or Verifone.
• Experience with firmware updates, device certification and hardware validation.
• Experience with hardware automation and Python scripting (optional).

Responsibilities

• Drive validation and certification of payment devices and peripherals.
• Lead onboarding and readiness of new hardware platforms.
• Identify, diagnose and resolve device, firmware, software and connectivity issues.
• Build and maintain device testing strategies and coverage.
• Influence hardware quality processes and cross-functional improvements.
