Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Junior/Mid-Level Hardware Technician in the Intel Sector's Cyber & Analytics Business Area (CABA). The role focuses on physical integrations, deployment and sustainment of development and operational systems across multi-rack environments.

Responsibilities include assembling devices, supporting deployments CONUS/OCONUS, maintaining a lab with ~100 racks, and coordinating with system engineering teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field with 4+ years of related experience.
  • Experience interpreting and working with technical drawings and blueprints (3+ years).
  • Experience maintaining network and server documentation and diagrams (2+ years).
  • Experience with electronics test equipment (fiber/copper test sets, OTDRs, multimeters).
  • Hands-on data center design and configuration (rack, power, placement).
  • Knowledge of security accreditation and certification for networks, servers, and data centers.
  • Proficiency with Excel and Visio.
  • Must be able to lift 35 lbs and travel for deployments/after-hours support.
  • Independent thinker; able to work alone or in a team.
  • Commitment to maintenance windows and change control procedures.
  • Strong analytic abilities; meticulous and careful.

  • Support deployments of multi-rack systems both CONUS and OCONUS.
  • Provide support for a lab of ~100 racks, including physical integrations, power, space, cooling estimates, power testing, and monitoring/troubleshooting of hardware.
  • Develop installation plans and coordinate redesign efforts with system administration and system engineering teams.
  • Establish and conduct test cases and coordinate with System and Network Engineers in troubleshooting components (e.g., drives, memory, batteries, cables, motherboards, processors).
  • Operate electronics test equipment including fiber and copper test sets, OTDRs, multimeters, etc.
  • Plan and implement data center enhancements and undertake lab/deployment-related projects.

Leidos has a new opportunity for a Junior/Mid-Level Hardware Technician in the Intel Sector's Cyber & Analytics Business Area (CABA). The role focuses on physical integrations, deployment and sustainment of development and operational systems.

  • Assemble devices and equipment and perform initial physical integrations of multi-rack systems.
  • Support deployments of multi-rack systems both CONUS and OCONUS.
  • Provide support for a lab consisting of approximately 100 racks, including physical integrations, power, space, cooling estimates, power testing, and monitoring and troubleshooting of hardware.
  • Develop installation plans and coordinate redesign efforts with system administration and system engineering teams.
  • Establish and conduct test cases and coordinate with System and Network Engineers in troubleshooting suspected failed components (e.g., hard drives, memory, batteries, cables, motherboards, processors).
  • Operate electronics test equipment including fiber and copper test sets, OTDRs, multimeters, etc.
  • Plan and implement data center enhancements and undertake lab and deployment-related special project work.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field with at least 4 years of related experience (additional experience may be substituted for a degree).
  • At least 3 years of experience interpreting and working with technical drawings and blueprints.
  • At least 2 years of experience maintaining network and server documentation and diagrams.
  • Experience establishing and conducting test cases for troubleshooting components (hard drives, memory, batteries, cables, motherboards, processors, etc.).
  • Experience with electronics test equipment (fiber and copper test sets, OTDRs, multimeters, etc.).
  • Direct, hands-on experience with data center design and configuration (rack and stack, power, placement, etc.).
  • Direct work experience and/or in-depth related experience or training with network, server, and Data Center security accreditation and certification.
  • Proficiency with Excel and/or Visio.
  • Must be able to routinely lift 35 lbs. without assistance.
  • Must be available to perform short-duration travel to support deployments and provide after-hours surge support when needed.
  • Independent thinker capable of working proficiently independently as well as within a team.
  • Commitment to adopting and adhering to best practices including compliance with maintenance windows and change control procedures.
  • Strong analytic abilities; meticulous and careful in work.
Clearance

Clearance Required: TS/SCI with Polygraph.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with server/router/firewall configuration and application performance optimization functions.
  • Experience with network and server component moves.
  • Experience documenting and providing information for security accreditation and certification.
