Job summary

Sprout in Garland, TX is seeking an IT Specialist to refurbish IT equipment and harvest valuable components, supporting our green ITAD operations.

You will run diagnostics on laptops, tablets, servers, and networking gear, using our proprietary sERP to track inventory, label devices, and route them for repair or recycling. The role demands basic English, the ability to stand for long shifts, and a readiness to learn new technologies.

Responsibilities

• Run diagnostics on electronics including laptops, tablets, servers and networking equipment.

• Coordinate daily activities of Level 3 and Level 4 Operators.
• Create labels and scan barcodes to sort devices by attributes.
• Manage inbound/outbound shipping and inventory within the production system.

We are looking for an IT Specialist seeking a different type of opportunity. Someone who likes refurbishing IT equipment and identifying and harvesting valuable components from devices near the end of their lifecycle. Someone who enjoys learning new technology and cares about saving the planet by conserving valuable resources.

Responsibilities

• Runs diagnostics on various consumer and industrial electronics including laptops, tablets, servers, and networking equipment, as well as their individual components
• Position may operate specialized equipment in combination with considerable independence and variation in assignments, requiring knowledge of our propriety software platform and additional software.
• Utilizes software to manage the data sanitation of hundreds of hard drives at a time and routes the devices to the appropriate distribution channel ranging from direct retail to responsible recycling
• Utilizes sERP (proprietary software) to inventory numerous devices by creating labels and scanning barcodes to sort electronic components by attributes
• Coordinates, supervises, and is accountable for the daily activities of Level 3 and Level 4 Operators. Impact of work is at team level.
• Demonstrates recognition of basic electronic components
• Opens/closes and interprets shop orders
• Understands and manipulates all aspects of the sERP system
• Understands the total production system and processes (e.g., inbound/ outbound shipping, shop orders, and inventory management)
• Understands third-party software (e.g., Softhinks, Future Dial, Kronos, EPS, WipeOS, etc.)

• Able to work with exposure to mechanical and electrical currents
• Able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Able to learn and apply new concepts
• Able to type data accurately and efficiently into a computer system
• Basic proficiency using a computer and MS Teams, Outlook, and internet search capabilities
• Basic proficiency using MS Word and Excel
