Job summary

Sproutup in Garland, Texas, is seeking an IT Specialist to refurbish IT equipment and extract valuable components from devices nearing end-of-life. You will work with a team to learn new technologies and contribute to sustainable IT asset disposition.

You will diagnose, inventory, and sanitize drives using our proprietary sERP system and other third-party tools, while following safety protocols in a non-climate-controlled warehouse.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of computer hardware components and repair basics.
• Analytical and process-oriented mindset with attention to detail.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new tools and processes.
• Ability to communicate in English (Spanish bilingual preferred).
• Physical ability to stand for 8 hours and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Willingness to work in a warehouse environment and use PPE.

Responsibilities

• Run diagnostics on a range of electronics including laptops, tablets, servers, and networking gear.
• Operate and navigate our proprietary software platform and associated tools.
• Use software to sanitize data on hundreds of hard drives and route devices to the correct channel.
• Inventory devices using sERP, generate labels, and scan barcodes for proper sorting.
• Supervise daily activities of Level 3 and Level 4 Operators and coordinate team tasks.
• Identify basic electronic components and handle shop orders.
• Understand production system flow including inbound/outbound shipping and inventory management.
• Familiarity with third-party software such as Softhinks, Future Dial, Kronos, EPS, WipeOS.

We are looking for an IT Specialist seeking a different type of opportunity. Someone who likes refurbishing IT equipment and identifying and harvesting valuable components from devices near the end of their lifecycle. Responsibilities

• Runs diagnostics on various consumer and industrial electronics including laptops, tablets, servers, and networking equipment, as well as their individual components
• Position may operate specialized equipment in combination with considerable independence and variation in assignments, requiring knowledge of our propriety software platform and additional software.
• Utilizes software to manage the data sanitation of hundreds of hard drives at a time and routes the devices to the appropriate distribution channel ranging from direct retail to responsible recycling
• Utilizes sERP (proprietary software) to inventory numerous devices by creating labels and scanning barcodes to sort electronic components by attributes
• Coordinates, supervises, and is accountable for the daily activities of Level 3 and Level 4 Operators. Impact of work is at team level.
• Demonstrates recognition of basic electronic components
• Opens/closes and interprets shop orders
• Understands and manipulates all aspects of the sERP system
• Understands the total production system and processes (e.g., inbound/ outbound shipping, shop orders, and inventory management)
• Understands third-party software (e.g., Softhinks, Future Dial, Kronos, EPS, WipeOS, etc.)

• Basic proficiency using a computer and MS Teams, Outlook, and internet search capabilities
• Basic proficiency using MS Word and Excel
