Job summary

Sprout is seeking an on-site Inventory Control Specialist to own inventory accuracy and asset flow for retired servers, storage and networking devices, and spare parts.

This role blends hands-on warehouse work with data reconciliation, including receiving, sorting, palletizing, shipping, and maintaining chain-of-custody logs.

You will use Excel/Sheets, reconcile data, produce reports, and collaborate with Ops and Procurement to drive continuous improvement in processes and accuracy.

Qualifications

• 2-4+ years in warehouse inventory control, ITAD, 3PL, or electronics distribution.
• Experience with WMS/ERP systems and Excel.

Responsibilities

You'll be the on-site owner of inventory accuracy and asset flow for retired servers, storage, and networking devices and spare parts. This role blends hands-on warehouse, data center and labs work (receiving, sorting, palletizing, shipping) with data reconciliation (client asset tags, serial capture, system updates, cycle counts). You'll make sure every device is identified, recorded, and prepared to ship - safely, securely, and on time.

What You'll Do

• Inventory accuracy & control
  • Perform receipts, put-away, bin transfers, cycle counts, and adjustments in the WMS/ERP.
  • Reconcile PO/ASN data vs. physical assets; resolve discrepancies with Ops/Procurement.
  • Maintain chain-of-custody logs, capture serials/asset tags.
• Palletization & outbound prep
  • Build stable pallets, band/wrap, apply BOL/COC paperwork, schedule carrier pickups.
  • Prepare export documentation as needed; verify HTS codes and weight/dim data.
  • Be able to handle devices that weigh up to 50 lbs.
• Data & reporting
  • Keep item masters and locations current, update statuses at each process gate.
  • Produce daily/weekly reports: receipts, shipments, variance, and aging.
  • Use Excel/Sheets (filters, vLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, PivotTables) to reconcile and summarize.
• Continuous improvement
  • Recommend slotting, labeling, and process improvements to reduce touches and errors.
  • Assist with SOP creation/updates and new-hire training on scanning and serial capture.

Qualifications

• Experience: 2-4+ years in warehouse inventory control, ITAD, 3PL, or electronics distribution.
• Tools: Comfort with WMS/ERP (NetSuite, SAP, Odoo, etc.), handheld scanners, and label printers (e.g., Zebra). Strong Excel.
• Hardware literacy: Able to identify common server/storage/network models and components.
• Detail & documentation: Accurate serial capture, paperwork, and status updates.
• Physical ability: Lift/move 50 lb items with proper technique; stand/walk for extended periods; operate pallet jacks; (forklift cert a plus).
• Compliance mindset: Familiar with ESD, data security, and safety procedures; background check friendly.

Schedule & Work Environment

• Full-time, on-site (day shift; occasional OT during peak receipts/shipments).
• Warehouse, Data Center or Lab setting with ESD workstations and racking; PPE provided.
