Role Description

As an iPhone Hardware Systems Validation Engineer, you will play a key role in achieving electrical validation milestones from prototype to launch in a dynamic environment. You will collaborate with the iPhone System Integration Team, utilizing your technical expertise and interpersonal skills to advance projects and ensure high-quality outcomes.

With a solid foundation in electrical engineering, you will troubleshoot complex technical issues, work closely with engineering teams, and develop validation automation architectures. Your efforts will contribute to risk mitigation and innovation in product development.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with EE design and SI/PI teams to develop rigorous test plans focusing on system performance and margins.
  • Execute test plans with subsystem owners and contract manufacturers.
  • Review test results and incorporate validation learnings into design improvements.
  • Report validation progress, risks, and issues to the team and management.
  • Innovate validation processes through scripting automation and test board design.
  • Manage electrical validation schedules in collaboration with EPMs and technical leads.
  • Participate in debugging activities, including designing experiments (DOEs).
  • Lead and mentor other Validation Engineers.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
  • Experience with hardware bring-up and bench-top measurements using lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies).
  • Basic understanding of low-speed and high-speed digital interfaces.
  • Knowledge of power electronics, especially DC-DC converters.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong electrical engineering fundamentals with experience in high-volume consumer electronics.
  • Deep knowledge of power integrity and analog designs such as DC-DC converters.
  • Experience with project management and data analysis tools (e.g., Tableau, Gantt charts).
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis and suggest design improvements.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages and automation tools (Python, LabVIEW).
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with experience working across functions.
