Lumafield is seeking a Hardware Systems Engineer in San Francisco to lead hardware development for industrial CT scanners. You will drive system architecture, select critical components, and build prototypes. Applicants should have hands-on experience in electro-mechanical systems and a solid understanding of mechanical design, electronics, and embedded code. The position entails collaboration with a fast-moving team, emphasizing creativity and system-level thinking. The salary ranges from $120,000 to $200,000 annually, inclusive of competitive benefits like equity compensation and health stipends.
Qualifications
Several years of hands-on experience taking a complex electro-mechanical or robotics product from blank page to working hardware.
Comfortable enough in MCAD and ECAD to produce your own simple designs.
A tinkerer at heart chasing ambiguity into hardware.
Responsibilities
Drive the system architecture translating product-level requirements.
Select and qualify critical parts and own the rationale.
Build prototypes and integrate working systems.
Write drivers for peripherals and land them in firmware.
Own test and validation, analyzing data and pushing design corrections.
