Job summary

Optivolt is seeking a hands-on Director of Quality and Reliability to own quality, product reliability, and bankability programs from prototype through full-scale production. You will design scalable quality systems, perform inspections, and drive certification, testing, and field validation in collaboration with product and engineering teams.

This role requires 5+ years in hardware quality, 2+ years leading quality programs, and willingness to travel up to 30%.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hardware quality and test experience.
• 2+ years owning a quality function.
• Experience with audits, CAPA, supplier quality.
• Experience with accelerated life testing and durability.
• Willingness to travel up to 30%.
• Based in or willing to relocate to San Francisco, CA.

Responsibilities

• Define and own quality, reliability, and performance validation roadmap from development to production and field support.
• Own certification and compliance roadmap with labs and regulatory bodies.
• Lead supplier and contract manufacturing quality programs including audits and inspections.
• Develop control plans, sampling methods, and inspection requirements for incoming and final production.
• Coordinate third‑party labs and test reports; translate results into design improvements.
