Job summary

Meta Reality Labs seeks a Sustaining Reliability and Quality Engineer to own long-term hardware reliability across the device portfolio. You will set the reliability strategy, drive field issue resolution, and influence design and supplier processes to sustain performance after launch.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in a technical field.
• 10+ years of hardware reliability engineering or product quality experience.
• Experience driving root cause analysis and corrective actions on complex hardware systems.
• Experience analyzing reliability data, field return and warranty metrics to identify trends.
• Knowledge of industry test standards (ASTM, MIL, JEDEC, IECR).

Responsibilities

• Own the reliability and quality engineering strategy and metrics for all products in market or scaling in manufacturing.
• Drive systemic resolution of field performance issues and return-rate optimization to root cause and corrective action.
• Partner with internal leaders and external suppliers to ensure long-term hardware field performance.
• Define and own field signal analytics, product health telemetry, and failure-reaction frameworks.
• Establish standards, methodologies, and metrics for sustaining reliability including ORT, PRQ and change control.
• Lead multidisciplinary root cause analyses for reliability escapes and drive corrective actions to closure.
• Provide Design-for-Reliability and architectural evaluations carrying learnings into new products.
• Translate data into risk assessments and executive-level reports.
• Mentor reliability and quality engineers across the function.
