Job summary

Lumicity in Austin, TX is seeking a Hardware Project Manager to drive execution across hardware, firmware, software, and supplier partners for a next-gen VR headset platform with biosensing. You will own schedules, manage dependencies, and lead cross-functional problem solving through EVT to production ramp.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in hardware program management, demonstrated ability to ship prototypes, and comfort challenging tradeoffs. VR/AR or biosignal experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in hardware/technical program or project management
• Experience through at least one full product cycle (prototype production)
• Comfort understanding tradeoffs and drive closure, not just schedule tracking
• Bonus: VR/AR headsets, wearables, biosignal devices, or compact consumer electronics

Responsibilities

• Own integrated program execution across hardware, firmware, software, and supplier/CM partners
• Build and maintain schedules, dependency maps, risk registers, and issue trackers
• Drive cross-functional resolution of integration issues (signal quality, EMI/EMC, connectors, thermal, comfort, manufacturability)
• Coordinate with suppliers and contract manufacturers on DFM/DFA/DFT, tooling, and yield
• Translate technical status into clear updates for leadership and cross-functional teams

Hardware Project Manager - VR Headset (Neurotech/Wearables)

We're working with a venture-backed, early-stage hardware-software startup building a next-generation VR headset platform with integrated biosensing (EEG, PPG, eye tracking, and related physiological sensors). We're hiring a Hardware Project Manager to drive execution across mechanical, electrical, firmware, software, validation, operations, and manufacturing as we move through EVT, DVT, PVT, and into production ramp.

What you'll do:

• Own integrated program execution across hardware, firmware, software, and supplier/CM partners
• Build and maintain schedules, dependency maps, risk registers, and issue trackers
• Drive cross-functional resolution of integration issues (signal quality, EMI/EMC, connectors, thermal, comfort, manufacturability)
• Coordinate with suppliers and contract manufacturers on DFM/DFA/DFT, tooling, and yield
• Translate technical status into clear updates for leadership and cross-functional teams

What we're looking for:

• 5-10+ years in hardware/technical program or project management, product development, or a related engineering role
• Experience through at least one full product cycle (prototype production)
• Comfort understanding technical tradeoffs well enough to challenge assumptions and drive closure - not just track a calendar
