Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is hiring a Team Lead - Hardware Partner Engineering in San Francisco. You will lead a small team of Hardware Partner Engineers and serve as the primary technical interface to key OEM partners, driving issues to resolution and shaping the partner program.

The role requires 8+ years of people management and 5+ years in hands-on technical work, with hardware experience and strong cross-functional leadership. In-office, with travel to Asia/EMEA as needed.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of direct people management experience coaching technical, partner-facing engineers.
• 5+ years of hands-on technical experience (software/systems) with hardware exposure.
• Ability to diagnose system/device level issues and hold OEMs accountable.
• Track record of turning backlogs into sustainable processes, tooling, or automation.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coach a small team of Hardware Partner Engineers with day-to-day OEM coverage.
• Be the primary technical point of contact for assigned OEM partners, debugging and driving issues to resolution.
• Drive alignment across Product, Engineering, Hardware Integrity/Reliability, and Commercial teams on OEM priorities.
• Deploy tooling, automation, and process improvements with OEM partners to scale quality efforts.
• Define team structure, ways of working, and escalation paths as scope grows.
• Establish and maintain senior-level relationships with OEM partners including regular business reviews.
• Use planning processes to secure resources and align stakeholders on direction.
