A Day in the Life
As a Hardware Integration & Test Engineer I, you will support the development and execution of hardware integration and test activities for Innoflight's innovative aerospace products. Working alongside experienced engineers, you’ll help validate hardware performance, build and configure test environments, troubleshoot technical issues, and contribute to ensuring our products meet rigorous quality and performance standards.
What You’ll Do
- Develop Test Procedures: Assist in identifying testable product requirements and developing Design Verification and Acceptance Test Procedures to validate hardware functionality, performance, and system requirements.
- Support Test Infrastructure: Help design, assemble, and maintain test fixtures, cables, and hardware interfaces that support engineering development, integration, and production testing.
- Assist with Hardware Integration: Collaborate with Hardware Engineering teams to configure test boards, establish test setups, and prepare products for validation activities.
- Investigate Test Failures: Support troubleshooting efforts by documenting test failures, assisting with root cause analysis, and working with senior engineers to resolve technical issues.
- Enhance Testing Processes: Partner with Manufacturing and Production teams to improve test coverage, repeatability, reliability, and overall testing efficiency.
- Integrate and Troubleshoot Systems: Work closely with Hardware and Software Engineering teams to support system integration, execute testing activities, and resolve hardware‑related issues.
- Document Technical Results: Record test results, technical findings, and issues while communicating progress and recommendations to engineering teams and project stakeholders.
- Build Technical Expertise: Gain hands‑on experience with advanced laboratory equipment, hardware validation techniques, and aerospace system integration while contributing to mission‑critical products.
Key Skills
- Hardware Testing: Familiar with laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and environmental test chambers used for hardware validation and troubleshooting.
- Technical Troubleshooting: Able to read schematics, assist with diagnosing circuit card assembly (CCA) issues, and methodically investigate hardware failures.
- Documentation and Communication: Detail‑oriented with the ability to accurately document test procedures, record technical findings, and communicate results effectively.
- Collaborative Engineering: Enjoys working alongside cross‑functional engineering and manufacturing teams to support product integration, testing, and continuous improvement.
What You’ll Need
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 1 or more years of experience in hardware testing, integration, or a related engineering role; internship or co‑op experience will be considered.
- Hands‑on familiarity with laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and environmental test chambers.
- Basic understanding of hardware test processes and system‑level testing.
- Ability to read schematics and troubleshoot circuit card assemblies (CCAs) under guidance.
- Strong attention to detail, problem‑solving skills, and the ability to follow established test procedures.
- Knowledge of Linux environments is a plus.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance; active U.S. Security Clearance preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
The starting base salary for this position ranges from $90,000 to $110,000 per year, depending on the candidate’s job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to a competitive base salary, Innoflight offers a well‑rounded compensation package that includes a Profit‑Sharing Bonus and a Cash Performance Bonus to reward both individual and company performance. Additional benefits include:
