Job summary

Crown Equipment Corporation is seeking a Systems Engineer to design, develop, and maintain Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) systems supporting embedded software validation. You will interface Simulink models with HIL hardware and CAN networks, and create robust documentation for ECU communications.

The role requires an engineering degree with hands-on HIL experience, strong analytical skills, and occasional travel. A comprehensive benefits package accompanies this full-time position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Electrical, Vehicle Systems, or Computer Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong written, verbal, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to travel occasionally, including overnight stays.
• Reliable transportation between company locations during work hours.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain HIL systems to support testing and validation of embedded software and control systems.
• Develop Simulink models to interface with HIL hardware and CAN networks.
• Create and maintain HIL wiring schematics, I/O definitions, and ECU communication definitions.
• Develop automated test scripts and test cases for HIL frameworks.
• Lead troubleshooting and resolution of HIL system issues.
• Ensure system performance meets standards and supports product requirements.
• Produce metrics, reports, and traceability documentation for management and compliance.

Job Duties:

Design, develop, and maintain Hardware‑in‑the‑Loop (HIL) systems to support testing and validation of embedded software and control systems.

• Design and maintain HIL architectures, strategies, and test systems for embedded software validation
• Develop Simulink models to interface with HIL hardware and CAN networks
• Create and maintain HIL electrical wiring schematics, I/O definitions, ECU communication protocol definitions, and supporting documentation

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor degree in Electrical, Vehicle Systems, or Computer Engineering (Or Associate degree with 6+ years compensating experience)
• Good written, verbal, analytical, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to travel occasionally, including overnight stays
• Reliable transportation between company locations during work hours

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2+ years of embedded systems testing experience
• Experience with MATLAB, Simulink, and HIL environments
• dSPACE tools experience
• Programming experience with Python is beneficial
• Knowledge of electromechanical and CAN‑based systems
• Ability to read electrical schematics and diagrams
• Experience with task management and version control tools (JIRA, GitHub)
