Job summary

Crown Equipment Corporation is seeking a Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) Systems Engineer to design, develop, and maintain HIL systems that validate embedded software and control architectures. You will create models in MATLAB/Simulink, interface with HIL hardware, and develop robust test scripts for automated validation.

The role requires experience with CAN networks, HIL development, and electrical schematics, with travel to multiple locations as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Electrical, Vehicle Systems, or Computer Engineering (or associate with 6+ years compensating experience)
• Good written, verbal, analytical, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to travel occasionally, including overnight stays
• Reliable transportation between company locations during work hours

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Hardware‑in‑the‑Loop (HIL) systems to support testing and validation of embedded software and control systems.
• Design and maintain HIL architectures, strategies, and test systems for embedded software validation
• Develop Simulink models to interface with HIL hardware and CAN networks
• Create and maintain HIL electrical wiring schematics, I/O definitions, ECU communication protocol definitions, and supporting documentation
• Develop automated test scripts and test cases to execute within HIL frameworks
• Lead troubleshooting and resolution of HIL system issues
• Ensure system performance meets company and industry standards and supports product requirements
• Produce metrics, reports, and traceability documentation for management and compliance
