Job summary

Ace Hardware is seeking a friendly Sales Associate to deliver exceptional customer service in our Utah hardware store. You will help customers find hardware and home improvement solutions, upsell helpful items, and keep the shop organized.

Responsibilities include assisting with product knowledge, inventory management, and creating a positive, safe shopping experience for every guest. Flexible schedule including evenings and weekends is required.

Qualifications

• Previous retail experience, preferably in a hardware store or home improvement center.
• Knowledge of hardware, tools, and home improvement products is advantageous.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and build rapport with customers.
• Basic math skills and proficiency in using point of sale (POS) systems.
• Flexibility to work a variable schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift and move objects weighing up to 40lbs.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers in selecting hardware, tools, and home improvement products with guidance on features and usage.
• Maintain knowledge of inventory, brands, specifications, and applications to support recommendations.
• Engage customers to identify needs and upsell complementary products or accessories.
• Help manage and organize inventory, restock shelves, and monitor stock levels.
• Address customer inquiries and concerns while ensuring a positive shopping experience.
• Support merchandising and displays, set up promotional signage, and ensure pricing accuracy.
• Maintain a clean, safe store environment and follow safety and regulatory policies.
