Job summary

Base, America’s next-generation power company, is seeking a Finance Partner to own the end-to-end hardware economics. You’ll model BOMs, track production costs, and manage capex as Base scales its battery production.

The role sits at the intersection of engineering, manufacturing, and finance, driving defensible financial plans and strong forecast accuracy. 3–7 years in finance or operations within hardware/manufacturing, plus proven BOM-cost modeling and cost-down experience, are essential.

Qualifications

  • 3-7 years in finance or operations at a hardware, manufacturing, or industrial business at meaningful scale.
  • Track record of building production cost and BOM models that drove real cost-down programs.
  • Strong cost-accounting and BOM fluency.
  • Comfortable on the factory floor and at the whiteboard.

Responsibilities

  • Own the forecast and costing for engineering R&D, capex, production cost, and BOM.
  • Build unit-cost models for each hardware generation with learning curves and scale effects.
  • Partner with engineering and manufacturing on cost-down roadmaps and defensible financial cases.
  • Own the capex pipeline and ROI framework for production capacity with payback storytelling.
  • Interface with engineering, supply chain, ops, and accounting to feed the corporate model.
  • Use AI tooling to compress forecasting cycles and automate cost-model rebuilds.
