Job summary

Coram AI is seeking a Hardware Engineering Manager to own the Access Control product line, oversee both internal design in Sunnyvale and external manufacturing partners, and drive transfers from concept to mass production across multiple time zones.

You will lead a team to refine quality, cost, and performance while building scalable processes and strong partner relationships to accelerate product cadence in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in production mechanical or electrical engineering.
• Experience shipping a product via an external contract manufacturer at volume.
• Experience owning factory relationships directly.
• Experience owning a full design transfer package: CAD, BOM, assembly instructions, test procedures, quality criteria.
• Experience taking products through certification (FCC at minimum; CE/UL familiarity is helpful).
• Ability to hit dates under constraint and decide what to cut to meet schedules.
• Experience building scalable processes.
• Proven track record of developing engineering staff with IC success.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.
• Ability to work in an onsite environment.

Responsibilities

• The shipping access-control line: quality, field performance, change control, ongoing cost.
• Two new product lines end to end: concept, design, EVT through PVT, certification, ramp, mass production.
• The contract manufacturer relationship: you own it, including design transfer package.
• Hands‑on engineering: CAD/drawings or schematics and board bring‑up.
• The processes the function runs on: stage gates, quality systems, supplier qualification, test protocols.
