Job summary

Leica Biosystems, a Danaher company, invites you to join the Hardware Engineering intern team in Vista, CA. You will contribute to sustainment and value engineering projects for Aperio Whole Slide Imaging Scanners, working on cost reduction and reliability improvements on-site.

You will collaborate with engineers across machining, electronics, programming, verification and system‑level design, while updating drawings under senior guidance.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, or Biomedical Engineering.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Performing system-level testing to generate data for design of experiments.
• Collaborate with engineering teams on machining, electronics, programming, verification & validation, and system-level design.
• Update or refine engineering drawings or processes under guidance of senior engineers.
