Job summary

Base is building the future of residential energy with batteries, inverters, and interconnection systems. As a Hardware Engineering Intern, you will work hands-on across the full product cycle—from early prototyping to production support—and collaborate with experienced engineers to tackle challenging mechanical and electrical design problems.

You’ll gain real-world experience in a fast-moving startup environment, with exposure to problem solving, testing, and documentation.

Qualifications

  • Current undergraduate or graduate student in Engineering, Physics, Math.
  • Hands-on hardware development experience preferred.
  • Interest in batteries, power electronics, and systems integration.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior engineers to design, simulate, build, and test electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Participate in hands-on prototyping, debugging, and iterative testing.
  • Support R&D and production efforts from prototype to high-volume manufacturing.
  • Help diagnose and solve performance, thermal, and integration issues.
  • Contribute to system documentation, test procedures, and design reviews.
