Meet the Team

We are the team designing a new class of cutting-edge routers supporting the Internet for the future: Cisco 8000 Series routers. These cloud-enhanced systems are powered by groundbreaking Cisco Silicon One ASICs and deliver the routing performance and functionality needed for critical infrastructure.

Your Impact

You will design hardware for the 8000 series routers, focusing on quality, power efficiency, and high bit rates. Responsibilities include hardware definition, design, qualification, and product release. You will collaborate with hardware experts, other teams, and vendors to solve challenging problems.

Responsibilities

1. Write hardware specifications and develop test plans.
2. Use Cadence/Allegro to capture schematics.
3. Assist with hardware bring-up alongside ASIC teams.
4. Debug issues in the lab using analyzers and scopes.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic or Computer Engineering.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in system-level development, preferably in server/computer/network industries.
• Experience in writing hardware specs and developing test plans.
• Proficiency with Cadence/Allegro for schematic capture.
• Experience with hardware bring-up with ASIC teams.
• Ability to debug hardware issues using lab equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical/Electronic or Computer Engineering.
• 3+ years of relevant experience in system-level development.
• Experience with 100G+ Ethernet, high-speed interfaces, and signal integrity.
• Knowledge of X86 architecture and control interfaces such as PCIe, MDIO, SPI, I2C.
• Hands-on board design experience with tools like Cadence Concept and Allegro.
• Experience in product validation and lab bring-up.
• Strong communication skills.
• Proven track record of shipping products.
