What you'll do

Design, development, and certification of the circuit card hardware to be used on the Next Generation End Cryptographic Unit (ECU) and high assurance Cryptographic High-Value Product (CHVP).

As a key team member, you will join a multidisciplinary R&D team of hard-working and passionate individuals developing groundbreaking data encryption system technologies. You will design highly reliable and rugged digital electronics that meet the required functional specifications, considering electrical, size, and weight constraints, as well as aspects related to tactical and data center environments.


The day-to-day

Designing, documenting, implementing, prototyping, and testing brand-new encryption devices on innovative high-speed or ultra-low power digital circuit boards for Layer 3 In-line Network Encryptors.

In collaboration with your project team members, you fully own the whole development cycle of electronic boards

  • Design, develop, test, and integrate highly reliable digital electronic circuit card hardware to be used on the Next Generation End Cryptographic Unit (ECU) and high assurance Cryptographic High-Value Product (CHVP)
  • Drive requirements, architecture and circuit design, component selection, and procurement, PCB design, circuit simulations, board bring up, testing and design + manufacturing documentation.
  • Partner with programmable logic, mechanical, and software internal experts to design and integrate advanced product features

What you'll need

  • Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
  • 8+ years hardware design or sustaining experience
  • Foundational knowledge of analog and digital logic and timing considerations
  • Must be able to prioritize, be detail oriented, and have history of handling time well to accomplish multiple tasks in parallel
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, take ownership of tasks and results
  • US citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance
  • Role can be a hybrid role but candidate must be located in Carlsbad, Marlborough, Tampa, or Linthicum Heights, as there will be lab work required
  • Ability to travel up to 10%

What will help you on the job

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to work with a temporally and geographically diverse team
  • Ability to document and report on technical solutions/findings
  • Solid understanding of MS Office products for documentation creation and modification
  • Familiarity with standard test equipment (i.e., oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzer, power supplies, etc.)
  • Familiarity with production related processes and common failure modes
  • High aptitude for learning new things
  • Desire to be part of a multidisciplinary team to evaluate and troubleshoot production related issues


Salary range

$127,000.00 - $200,500.00 / annually.
For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $144,500.00- $216,500.00/ annually
