Job summary

Amtec Staffing is seeking a Hardware/Electronic Engineer III to design and test electronics subsystems for space applications. The role involves end-to-end development from concept through delivery, with emphasis on power electronics and sensor systems.

You will participate in subsystem reviews, develop task plans with budgets, and create design documentation while coordinating with management and external partners. Strong leadership and multitasking skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Deep knowledge of analog, digital and mixed-signal electronics.
  • Experience crafting, fabricating, assembling and testing hardware.
  • Familiarity with LabVIEW, Python and bench test equipment.
  • Proficiency with circuit and board design tools (Altium, LTspice).

Responsibilities

  • Join subsystem electronics development team and support reviews of electronics, test equipment, and test plans.
  • Develop and execute task plans and budgets for power and sensor flight electronics through development, build, test and delivery.
  • Develop system designs and requirements for space power systems and power electronics.
  • Design and develop power and sensor electronics for space missions and other applications.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for development, reliability, drawings, build, assembly and test.
  • Report progress, schedule, and budget to Line, Project, and Institutional Management.

Title: Hardware/ Electronic Engineer III

Duration: 1 year with possibility of going long-term

Shift: 1st

9/80 Work Schedule

Pay Range: $50-81.35/HR(depending on experience and outcome of the interview)

No C2C or Staffing Partnership

Summary:

Responsible for designing and testing electronics subsystems and support equipment and will be involved in all aspects of power electronics development from concept to delivery.

As a key member of the team, you will

  • Participate as part of a subsystem electronics development team and help with reviews of electronics, electronics test equipment, and test plans.
  • Develop and execute task plans and budgets for power and sensor space flight electronics through development, build, test, and delivery to a higher level of integration
  • Develop system designs and requirements for space power systems and power electronics.
  • Design and develop power and sensor electronics for space missions and other applications.
  • You'll have responsibility for all documentation related to conceptual development, reliability, structural, and thermal analyses, design drawings, and build, assembly, and test.
  • Report on technical progress, schedule, and budget to Line, Project, and Institutional Management.
  • In addition, you will be integral in developing advanced electronics technology and improving and enabling future missions and supporting the development of mission proposals through expertise in the current state-of-the-practice in space electronics.

Required Skills:

  • Deep understanding and experience in Analog, Digital, and Mixed-Signal Electronics, Controls, or Power Systems Design. Including power control systems.
  • Proven experience in crafting, developing, fabricating, assembling, and testing analog or power electronics hardware
  • Experience with test software and hardware, particularly using LabVIEW and Python test equipment, including the selection, assembly, and use of electronic bench test equipment
  • Knowledge of :
  • Circuit design and board design software associated with electronics development (Altium and LTspice)
  • Industry and/or academic practices and standards across a range of applications related to the development, testing and integration of electronic assemblies for space applications
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills in relating to both internal and external customers
  • Strong ability to multitask with an established track record of meeting schedules and milestones
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work with fluctuating and competing environments
