Job summary

Rune seeks a Technical Writer to own the written layer for RELIC modular data centers. You will work from assembly to commissioning runbooks and customer deliverables across sites nationwide, building the documentation practice from scratch as the company scales.

You will collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain to ensure content accuracy and alignment with evolving hardware and processes, while developing onboarding content for new technicians.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of technical writing experience in hardware, energy, data center, manufacturing, or similar physical environment.
• Proven ability to write work instructions and SOPs used by production and field teams.
• Able to extract technical content from engineers and translate it into clear documentation.
• Experience with documentation systems, style guides, and version control for consistency.
• Ability to create visual documentation such as diagrams, exploded views, wiring/interface drawings.
• Comfort reading BOMs, schematics, mechanical drawings & ECOs within PLM workflows.
• Familiar with OSHA, NFPA 70E, NEC, UL standards; self-directed with multiple streams.
• Willingness to travel ~10% to deployment sites.

Responsibilities

• Produce and maintain engineering documentation across RELIC generations with engineers to ensure accuracy.
• Develop assembly work instructions reflecting on-the-floor procedures.
• Create runbooks for deployment, commissioning, and field operations across multi-state sites.
• Generate visual docs like diagrams and wiring illustrations; ensure consistency.
