Job summary

Nebius is seeking an IT Infrastructure Engineer – RMA & Hardware Diagnostics for its Kansas City data center. You will own advanced diagnostics, manage end-to-end warranty processes with OEM vendors, and coordinate with L1/L2 teams to improve hardware reliability in production environments.

This hands-on role focuses on root cause analysis, firmware diagnostics, and proactive performance improvements to reduce MTTR and enhance fleet-wide reliability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with enterprise server hardware in a production data center.
• Deep understanding of x86 server architecture (CPUs, memory, PCIe, GPUs, storage, power).
• BIOS/firmware diagnostics and upgrades experience.
• Advanced Linux CLI troubleshooting and hardware diagnostics.
• Experience with remote management interfaces (IPMI, iDRAC, iLO).
• Proven hardware RMA process management with OEM vendors.
• Structured root cause analysis and clear documentation.
• Familiarity with hardware monitoring and failure trend analysis.
• Strong ownership and ability to work independently in critical environments.
• Excellent English communication.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced firmware and hardware diagnostics on enterprise servers.
• Troubleshoot complex hardware failures using logs, BMC/IPMI, BIOS tools.
• Serve as primary escalation point for L1/L2 on high-impact incidents.
• Conduct structured root cause analyses and document findings.
• Own the RMA lifecycle: validate components, create warranty claims, coordinate with vendors.
• Interface with OEM vendors to accelerate corrective action for recurring defects.
• Analyze failure trends and report metrics (RMA rates, reliability).
• Develop diagnostic playbooks and standardized procedures.
• Validate replacement components before redeployment into production.
• Collaborate with data center ops, procurement, and engineering to improve lifecycle processes.
• Contribute to reducing MTTR and fleet reliability through knowledge sharing.
