Job summary

Russell Tobin is seeking a CAD/Mechanical design specialist to perform NX-based 3D design and basic manufacturing-focused tasks in a onsite/flex environment in Fremont, CA. You will select components, manage assemblies, and interpret drawings while collaborating with teammates to address design, material, and process challenges.

Ideal candidates have strong NX experience (2+ years) and comfort with Sheet Metal and machined parts, plus a background that supports 5+ years of experience.

Qualifications

• NX 3D CAD proficiency with 2+ years of hands-on use.
• Familiarity with Teamcenter PLM and related workflows.
• Strong mechanical design skills including sheet metal and machined parts.
• 5+ years experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform CAD and basic mechanical design with emphasis on manufacturability.
• Evaluate off-the-shelf components when appropriate.
• Manage CAD assemblies for self and colleagues.
• Interpret drawings, specs, and processes; solve material and part issues.
• Support inspection and failure analysis activities.

Job description

Schedule: Onsite/Flex (3 days a week in office) -- RGDA - Regular, Mon-Fri, 40 -- 8am-5pm PST

Pay: $60/hr.

Duties

Performs Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and fundamental mechanical design, including Design for Manufacturing and Assembly. Investigates and selects off-the-shelf components as appropriate. Manages CAD assemblies for oneself and colleagues. Interprets engineering drawings/specifications and manufacturing processes; problem solves material, process and parts issues. Contributes to inspection and failure analysis.

Required skills

Strong in using NX for 3D CAD (ideally currently using NX, but if not, then at least must have used it for 2+ years before that - no exceptions)

Familiar with Teamcenter PLM system (expertise not required)

Solid mechanical design skills (particularly with sheet metal and machined parts

Education:

5+ years experience preferred.
