Job summary

Trimm, Inc. is hiring a Hardware Design Engineer to join our engineering team in a primarily onsite role in North Carolina.

You will design DC power distribution circuits, fused circuits, alarm schemes, remote monitoring, and plug-and-play systems, while reviewing analog, digital, and power circuitry against schematics and specs. You will research design problems with circuit simulations and collaborate on documentation updates in the ERP system.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and comprehend instructions, write specs and reports, and present information clearly in group settings.
• Knowledge of analog circuits including rectifiers, regulators, oscillators, amplifiers, filters, inductors.
• Familiarity with non-isolated and isolated power topologies (Buck, Boost, Buck-Boost, Flyback, Forward, Half-Bridge, Full-Bridge).
• Experience with test equipment (oscilloscopes, loads, AC/DC sources, spectrum analyzers, power analyzers, LCR meters).
• Experience with circuit modeling tools (PSPICE, LTspice, PLECS, MATLAB/Simulink).
• Experience with ECAD tools (Altium, KiCAD, Eagle, Mentor Graphics).
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot circuit issues.

Responsibilities

• Design DC power distribution circuits, fused circuits, alarm schemes, remote monitoring, and plug-and-play systems.
• Design and peer review analog, digital, and power circuitry and PCB layouts based on schematics and product specs.
• Research and resolve design problems using circuit simulation for parametric modeling.
• Review design changes and recommend cost-reductions and manufacturability improvements.
• Maintain up-to-date drawings, BOMs, and ERP documentation reflecting design changes.
• Support ECRs, 5S, and training initiatives as needed.
