Job description

This role is offered with a global hedge fund, recently recognized as one of the most successful financial services firms in history. Holding over $50 billion in assets and employing more than 5,000 people worldwide, they are in a constant state of growth.

Leadership is currently searching for a Hardware Deployment Technician with professional experience supporting end users in a fast-paced corporate environment (financial services ideal). This organization is known for hiring the best and the brightest. Their name on your resume serves as a badge of honor, and this environment loves to promote from within.

This is a long-term, hands-on opportunity performing large-scale Moves, Adds, and Changes (MAC), day-to-day hardware and software support, and desk-side assistance for a demanding, high-performing user base. You will play a central role in onboarding and reassigning end users, building out new-hire workstations, and supporting the firm's traders and staff across its Midtown Manhattan offices.

Because most support is delivered in person, the right candidate enjoys working directly with people and is comfortable in a high-urgency environment. Users here expect issues acknowledged and resolved quickly, so a strong sense of urgency and a friendly, professional approach are essential.

This role offers the opportunity to join a well-known company on a full-time basis (40 hours plus occasional overtime), with a casual dress code, free catered meals, fully stocked on-site kitchens, and locations conveniently near several commuter hubs.

What you'll do:

  • Deploy, configure, and support end-user hardware, including desktops, laptops, MacBooks, monitors, and peripherals.
  • Build out new-hire workstations, including mounts, monitor arms, and cable management (setups can run to 15+ new hires in a single week).
  • Provide fast, desk-side troubleshooting for hardware issues, responding to requests posted to team support channels right away.
  • Complete mobile device enrollments, setting up new phones and installing corporate applications for new hires and device swaps.
  • Troubleshoot Logitech wireless peripherals, including dongle pairing, interference or latency issues, and charging.
  • Handle day-to-day Windows 11 and Microsoft 365 support, basic Outlook and printer troubleshooting, and general end-user issues.
  • Partner with a small, close-knit team and pitch in on support requests during busy periods.

Qualifications must include:

  • 5+ years in an IT Support role, with large-scale enterprise environments preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree highly preferred (or equivalent work experience and certifications).
  • Strong professional experience setting up, moving, and supporting Dell hardware (desktops and monitors).
  • Professional experience setting up, configuring, upgrading, and supporting laptops, desktops, and MacBooks (macOS experience valued).
  • Hands-on experience with new-user setups, password resets, account creation, office build-outs, MACs, procuring equipment, and cable management.
  • Working knowledge of Windows 11, Microsoft 365 and Outlook troubleshooting; Active Directory a plus.
  • Experience supporting peripherals and accessories such as Jabra headsets and Logitech devices (MX wireless mice, mechanical keyboards).
  • Familiarity with mobile device management (Intune) for phone and application enrollment.
  • Experience utilizing a ticketing system to manage support requests.
  • Close attention to detail, strong follow-through (verifying every setup works once complete), and the ability to work well under tight timelines.
  • Excellent customer-service skills and a calm, professional presence with demanding, high-urgency users.
  • Onsite attendance Monday to Friday is required (this is not a remote role).

Preferred / nice to have:

  • Exposure to Bloomberg or other financial applications.
  • Experience supporting trader turret or push-to-talk systems (e.g., Cloud Nine); training provided.
  • Prior experience in financial services or another fast-paced, high-availability environment.
