Job summary

Gillman Home Center in Indiana is seeking a Department Head to drive outstanding customer service, product knowledge, and teamwork across the department. You will guide staff, manage inventory, price updates, and assist with sales, keys, propane, rentals, and register operations.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and 2+ years in customer service plus 1+ year retail experience with 2+ years of product knowledge. Availability includes days, evenings, and weekends.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of customer service experience.
• 1+ years of retail job experience.
• 2+ years of product knowledge of items in assigned department.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent service to customers.
• Greet and assist customers in a positive, approachable manner.
• Advise customers on solutions to projects and problems; offer add-on sales when appropriate.
• Perform customer service tasks including but not limited to cutting keys, filling propane, running register, and assisting with rental transactions.
• Provide services to customers at point of sale, including running register, bagging items, assisting with loading products.
• Maintain inventory levels, fronting, facing, and ensuring aisles are clean and accessible.
• Open and close store as assigned; perform store maintenance as needed.
• Follow all company policies and procedures; identify safety issues.
