Job summary

Livestock Nutrition Center LLC in the United States is seeking an experienced Harbor/Port Tugboat Pilot to navigate and operate the towing vessel and related equipment. You will oversee crew safety and vessel operations, ensuring compliance with safety procedures and federal regulations.

Ideal candidates will hold a USCG Mariner license for the area, Radar Observer certificates, Medical clearance, TWIC, and a strong commitment to safety, reliability, and teamwork in challenging marine

Qualifications

• Must maintain a current USCG Mariner License for the area operated.
• Radar Observer certificates, Medical, and TWIC cards required.
• High school diploma or GED is mandatory.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Reliable, regular on-time attendance is essential.

Responsibilities

• Safety of navigation and operation of the towing vessel and equipment.
• Determine safety of operations and halt work if unsafe conditions exist.
• Operate vessel safely in various weather and river conditions.
• Oversee all vessel operations and crew activities.
• Monitor fuel, supplies, harbor services and overtime expenditures.
• Maintain required logs, documentation and checklists.
• Ensure crew are trained in firefighting, lifesaving and emergency procedures.
• Ensure vessel is equipped with safety PPE and inspected regularly.
• Adhere to federal, state and local regulations.
