Job summary

Livestock Nutrition Center seeks a Harbor/Port Tugboat Pilot to navigate and operate the towing vessel and related equipment, overseeing crew safety and vessel operations. You will monitor expenditures like fuel, harbor services, and overtime, and ensure compliance with inspection and safety requirements.

The role requires relevant licenses, training in emergency procedures, and the ability to work extended shifts in outdoor conditions.

Qualifications

• Must maintain a current USCG Mariner License for the area operated.
• Radar Observer certificates and TWIC cards required.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willing to work overtime, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Navigate and operate towing vessel safely in various weather and river conditions.
• Oversee all vessel operations and crew onboard safety.
• Monitor fuel, supplies, harbor service usage and overtime.
• Maintain logs, documentation and checklists as required.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies and regulations.
