Job summary

KBR, delivering base operations support at Diego Garcia, seeks an experienced Harbor Pilot to safely navigate, pilot, dock, and schedule vessels within the harbor and surrounding waters. You will liaise between military and civilian stakeholders to ensure mission-critical activities run smoothly, applying extensive knowledge of local waters and nautical procedures.

Minimum three years as an Unlimited Tonnage Harbor and Docking Pilot or Chief Harbor Pilot, USCG Unlimited Tonnage license, and

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen with SBI/secret clearance.
• Retired U.S. Navy, E-7 or above preferred.
• Licensed by USCG (Unlimited Tonnage) with Navy Pilot experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and coordinate the Daily Harbor Schedule for approval by the Port Operations Officer.
• Pilot U.S. Navy, Military Sealift Command, civilian, and foreign-flagged vessels into Diego Garcia Harbor.
• Direct and coordinate docking, mooring, and support craft during vessel maneuvers.
• Advise ship Masters on harbor rules and lagoon customs.
• Develop vessel-specific mooring plans for Deep Draft Wharf and POL Fueling Pier operations.
