Job summary

Ingram Marine Group in Columbus, Kentucky is seeking experienced Vessel Pilots for harbor operations. This role requires strong leadership abilities to promote a high-performance culture while ensuring safe crew, vessel, and tow operations.

Responsibilities include supervising crew members, ensuring compliance with maritime regulations, and delegating tasks appropriately. Candidates must have a valid USCG Mate/Pilot license and be CPR & 1st Aid Certified.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• USCG Mate/Pilot license or higher is required.
• Valid FCC Radio License is necessary.
• Radar endorsement or certification is needed.
• CPR & 1st Aid Certification is required.
• Must have a valid TWIC.
• Proficient computer skills, including email and navigation systems.

• Ensure safe operations using safety systems and policies.
• Supervise crew in consultation with Captain.
• Ensure navigation complies with regulations.
• Promote leadership and harmony among crew members.

Job Description

• Assure safe crew, vessel and tow operations through use of Ingram's safety systems and policies.
• Supervise the Mate and Deckhands in consultation with the Captain and shore-based leadership.
• Assure safe and efficient vessel navigation through compliance with the "rules of the road", practicing good seamanship and boat handling skills.
• Comply with and ensure crew compliance with USCG and environmental laws and regulations.
• Demonstrate felt leadership and promote harmony amongthe crew.
• Delegate vessel responsibilities, duties, and tasks considering crew members experience and abilities.
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Have a High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Have a valid driver's license.
• Have a USCG Mate/Pilot license or higher.
• Have a valid FCC Radio License
• Have a Radar endorsement or Radar Certification
• Be CPR & 1stAid Certified
• Have a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
• Have proficient computer skills to include E-mail, internet browsers, and navigational systems
