Job summary

Apple Inc. in San Francisco is seeking a Product Design / Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the mechanical design, development, and validation of next‑generation haptic actuators and experiences.

You will have end-to-end responsibility from concept to production, working with cross-functional teams and vendors to meet reliability, manufacturability, and aesthetic goals for Apple devices (iPhone, Apple Watch). Travel <10% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Experience with 3D CAD, 2D drafting, GD&T, and tolerance analysis.
• Strong fundamentals in mechanics.
• Proficient with mechanical or electromagnetic FEA tools.
• Applied knowledge of electrical circuits, material science, and basic chemistry.
• Team oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical components and assemblies.
• Brainstorm concepts and solutions to haptic challenges.
• Prototype, evaluate, and debug innovative ideas.
• Generate detailed specifications and drawings.
• Analyze static and dynamic structures with simulations and experiments.
• Collaborate with external vendors and cross-functional teams.
• Travel internationally < 10%.
• Lead design reviews and design documentation releases.
