GOODWILL INDUSTRIES OF THE VALLEY WORKS INC in Staunton, VA is seeking a Part-Time Retail Associate to hang apparel, transport items, and restock the sales floor under the direction of the Store Manager. The role supports donor and customer relations, inventory accuracy, and store upkeep in a busy retail environment.

Qualified candidates should communicate clearly, perform basic math, and work well independently or as part of a team.

Qualifications

Description

Mission Contribution:

To ensure the efficient and cost-effective operation and stewardship of the retail store through donor and customer relations, processing donated goods, quality control, to maximize profitability and increase training opportunities.

Summary:

Under the direct supervision of the Store Manager or designee is responsible for hanging apparel, transporting, and hanging apparel onto sales floor and facility security and maintenance.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally.
• Ability to perform basic math skills.
• Must be able to work independently.
• Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with managers, team members, customers, and donors.
• Ability to work within a team situation.
• Ability to maintain a positive, friendly attitude and a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance.
• Ability to perform the essential functions with or without accommodation.

Special Requirements:

• Having a cell phone is not required for employment, but access to applications and/or resources may be limited unless a cell phone is used for authentication.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of standing and walking throughout the retail space.
• Able to stand, bend and reach.
• Able to lift, push, pull, carry, or otherwise move up to forty (40) pounds with no support regularly. Over forty (40) pounds request for additional team member assistance as needed.
• Able to perform tasks that require repetitive motion. Manual dexterity is required.
